Our Process

Our Process

From beginning to end… the care your timepiece deserves…

Preparation

Audemars Piguet reassembly

Once we receive your timepiece, whether in-store or by post, our workshop begins with a thorough assessment to determine exactly what it requires. Before any work begins, we provide a detailed estimate, which is completely free of charge and valid for one month.

The service starts with preparing your watch, carefully de-casing it and inspecting every component. From there, the movement is entrusted to one of our skilled watchmakers for complete disassembly. Using magnification tools or a microscope, they meticulously examine each part for wear or defects.

A standard movement can contain around 150 components, while more complex movements may include 250 to 1,000 parts. Every element is handled with the utmost precision and care, ensuring your watch performs flawlessly once the repair or service is complete.

Cleaning

Precision Cleaning
Our cleaning process begins with every component being carefully placed in a Solvex cleaning machine, purpose-built to handle the tiniest watch parts. Through multiple stages and baths, this process removes all traces of old oils, grease, and debris, ensuring each part is immaculate.

Once cleaned, the movement is reassembled, precisely oiled, and regulated according to the manufacturer’s specifications and recommendations, guaranteeing optimal performance and longevity for your timepiece.

Polishing

Expert Polishing and Refurbishment
Polishing, or refurbishment, removes light scratches and restores your watch’s finish to manufacturer standards. Using a combination of specialist techniques and precision machinery, we ensure that every edge and contour remains sharp and true to the original design. As part of a complete service, a full refurbishment of your timepiece is included where required.

If refurbishment isn’t necessary, we perform an ultrasonic clean to refresh the case components. For deeper dents or more extensive damage, we also offer laser filling and complete case restoration, returning your watch to its original shape and density. Pricing for these advanced services depends on the condition and complexity of the timepiece.

Re-ASSEMBLY

Automatic watch inspection

Re-Assembly and Final Checks
Once the movement has been fully serviced and the case or bracelet components are prepared, your watch is carefully re-cased, resealed, and tested for water resistance.

The movement is then fitted and inspected once more, ensuring every function operates flawlessly. Following a rigorous visual and functional check, your timepiece proceeds to the final stage of the service, ready to return to you in perfect working order.

QC & Final testing

Quality Control & Final Testing
The final stage of our service involves thorough testing over several days to evaluate timing, power reserve, and overall functionality. This crucial step ensures your watch performs optimally under real-world conditions. Using a watch winder, we simulate the movements of everyday wear, providing an accurate assessment of how your timepiece will operate on your wrist.

As the freshly oiled movement settles, slight timing variations can occur. When necessary, we perform a fine regulation after testing to achieve the most precise results, highlighting the importance of this meticulous quality control process.

Back To You

Returning Your Timepiece
Once your service is complete, your watch will be returned to you restored to its original splendour, accompanied by a 24-month guarantee. Your timepiece is a masterpiece of precision engineering—built to last, yet even the finest watch requires care to perform at its best.

Regular servicing protects the movement, ensures accurate timekeeping, and helps maintain the value of your watch. While service intervals vary, most watches benefit from a service every five to ten years, or sooner depending on usage and condition.
